FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
-
Does it hurt? Most clients find no pain to mild discomfort. We numb with lidocaine for every procedure both before and during your service for continued comfort. Before your appointment begins, your specialist will assess you skin and your pain tolerance to determint the numbing type and time needed to keep you comfortable.
-
How long will it take?It is so important to think LONG TERM when it comes to your skin and aesthetic goals. We want you to wake up as confident as possible for years to come. This means working with your skin, not against it. Each appointment will average 2-4 hours, sometimes longer. This allows time for a thorough consultation, design and application with sufficient numbing. Everyones skin is different and it is normal for your first appointment with us to take longer while your specialist is assessing and testing your skin, finding your shades and answering any questions you may have. We suggest not planning any special events, meetings or appointments close to your SkinSpace appointment so you can relax while your services are completed and focus on aftercare afterwards.
-

Brow Corrections vs RemovalBrow Tattoo Removal A saline formula is used to soften skin while removing existing pigment. The darker your tattoo, the longer it will take to remove it completely. Each session takes 2 hours after which your brow area will darken, scab and shed. You must wait at least 4 weeks between sessions. The average client needs 6-8 sessions for complete removal. Brow Correction without removal Owner Shaena Santana specializes in brow neutralization, shape correction and color correction. Candidates can skip the process of removal and have their brows corrected in one day. Using advanced theory and technique, your uneven, discolored and dark brows CAN be corrected without removal. Altough up to 3 touch ups 1 month apart may be required, the overall shape, color and facial balance will be improved after your first appointment. Some candidates may require 1- 4 removal sessions before qualifying for corrections. A consultation will determine whether you are an ideal candidate for brow corrections or removal.

Is it a tattoo?Semi permanent makeup, overall, is a tattoo. The difference is in the depth, tools and pigments used as well as the overall technique. We work in the inner layers of the outer layers of the skin, while a traditional tattoo is much deeper, in a part of the skin called the epidermis. Because of the superficial application, healed results are more true to color, detailed and soft than a traditional tattoo and need touch ups between 9 and 24 months apart, depending on activity level and skin type.
